Affiliates and Brands

Affiliate Links

In addition to the brands I choose to work with and whose products I sell in my Online Store, I also use affiliate links to direct customers to third party vendors, like Amazon and Tire Rack. The reality of an online retail business is that there’s always someone that will sell things at a lower price. And in the Amazon Age, it’s sometimes better to partner with the behemoths than to fight them. So if you want to support Redpants and need to get what you need from big-box shop like Amazon or Tire Rack, using my affiliate links will help!

Affiliate links will be either an embedded link like this, or a clickable icon/image like this:

These links are not spam or anything like that. If you think a link is broken, misleading, or in any way suspect, please let me know! Otherwise, when you use the links below (or elsewhere on Redpants) and buy something during that visit, I’ll get a small referral fee. It isn’t much, but every bit helps and is appreciated!

Brands

One of the things I try to focus on with Redpants is being able to share meaningful and realistic information with the Aston Martin owners community. This includes information about the companies with which I work. To be clear, I list an incredibly small number of the products I have access to - be it OEM Aston Martin parts or aftermarket supplies. Rather than trying to sell everything under the sun, I try to provide my customers with the high quality options while informing them of why the options are worthwhile.

I test a large number of products and won’t sell anything if the products or the company that makes them don’t meet my own standards.

Products from all of the brands listed below are available through Redpants. They offer far more than I have listed in my Online Store, so please let me know if you want something they offer but don’t see it on my website!

Aston Installations are the absolute experts on Aston Martin infotainment systems. They’ve been the leaders in upgrading Gaydon-era Aston Martins to have modern electronic features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as things that modern Astons often lack, like front cameras, reversing cameras, and streaming audio. They offer on-site installations at the shop in Tewkesbury, England, and also offer their products as complete kits which are available in the Redpants Online Store.

BC Forged logo.png

BC Forged is a wheel company that offers beautiful wheels at an incredible price. They’re fully-forged, lightweight, highly customizable, and have lots of beautiful designs to choose from - all without hidden costs or wild upcharges. I’ve found these wheels to be stronger, lighter, and more durable than the factory wheels that came on my Aston Martins, and love them so much that I’m now on my third set. I sell these in my Online Store in preset sizes, but can have them made in just about any size at no additional cost.

Warranty: All BC Forged wheels carry a 3 year structural warranty and 1 year finishing warranty. If you have any questions regarding a warranty issue and/or claim, please contact us via email at mailto:sales@bcforged-na.com or via phone at 386.872.3544, Ext. 1.

BC Racing transparent.png

BC Forged is the sister company of BC Racing, this one specializing in coilovers. I first reached out to BC Racing to develop a coilover kit specifically for the V8 Vantage because I was so happy with my experiences with BC Forged. Just like the wheels, I wanted to offer a high-quality coilover option at a price that wouldn’t bleed my customers’ wallets dry and I’m incredibly happy with the result. I worked with them directly to create the coilover they now sell globally… but I can only sell them in North America. A little upsetting given my involvement, but regional restrictions are their company policy due to distributor arrangements.

Cobra logo.png

Cobra is a seat company based in Telford, England. They make everything in-house and even have their own leather craftsmen to hand-make the leather covers for their seats. If anything, that makes their seats more British than Aston Martin’s own, which are made in Germany by Recaro and only finished in England. The Managing Director of Cobra is the grandson of the company’s founder, and he even personally oversaw the manufacturing of the seats for my 2007 V8 Vantage. Want a set for yourself, matched to the interior of your car? Redpants can do that!

Deadweight industries is a British company that specializes in lightweight batteries using cutting-edge lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4). These batteries are direct plug-and-play into modern Aston Martins (and other cars) which allows owners to drop a lot of weight from their cars without and adapter. The batteries have been tested extensively, including at the legendary Nürburgring in Germany in Aston Martins, BMWs, and Corvettes.

ecps-autowes-group-02.png

ECPS is a family owned and operated business based near Lublin, Poland. They started with automotive collision repair over 30 years ago and have since branched out into making their own carbon fiber parts. It took them over a year of development and testing to produce their first carbon fiber product to ensure the quality was the best possible. They now have 15 people dedicated to carbon fiber manufacturing, all of which is done by hand on-site at ECPS. If you want incredibly high-quality carbon fiber for your car, look no further than ECPS.

Hawk logo.png

Hawk Performance has been making brake pads for over 25 years. Hawk pads are widely used in various levels of motorsport from casual autocross and grassroots motorsports on up, which means their actually usable in the real world. I first used their HPS pads on my 2005 Subaru WRX STi that I had ages ago and really liked them. When it came time to find a pad that could handle both street and track driving without driving me crazy with noise and dust, I went to Hawk and found the HPS 5.0 pad, which is what I’ve been using the last few years on my 2007 V8 Vantage.

Motul logo.png

I started using Motul products in my Aston Martin when I found their coolant was a near exact match for my car’s factory coolant. Since then I brought in their brake fluids, then engine oils, then gear (transmission) oils. At one point I even got to chat with one of their chemical engineers, which was great because it really let me know that they’re as much an automotive company as they are a chemical company - and you’ll see it yourself when you look at how involved they are with motorsports at every level around the world. Motul products are extremely high quality and designed to handle everything from grocery-getting drives to full-on track days and even racing.

The vast majority of brake pads I sell are the Porterfield R4-S, and for good reason: they’re exactly what most of my customers want. Able to handle normal to spirited driving while producing extremely little dust and no squealing, the R4-S is the go-to pad to fix some of the biggest complaints people have with their Aston Martins. Doing a track day and want to be able to stop so hard it’ll hurt your eyeballs? The R4 is the racing version of the R4-S and it’s an incredible pad for track and racing use.

Powerflex Logo.jpg

Powerflex USA is the American branch of Powerflex, a British company that specializes in polyurethane bushings. They make all their products in-house in England and offer bushing kits made bespoke for each application. For Aston Martins, being British-built makes them ideally on-brand, while helping vastly reduce the cost of replacing worn-out OEM bushings that would require buying entire suspension components.

Warranty: Powerflex USA offers a lifetime warranty on their products.

Redpants logo final draft.png

Redpants? Hey, that’s me! I actually started Redpants because I was designing my own parts - first my oil catch can kit, and then my lightweight battery kits. Redpants as a business grew around those two products and people constantly asking where to buy the parts and supplies to do the DIY jobs I was showing them how to do. While most of the products I now sell are from other manufacturers, I do still offer my own!

VAP logo.png

VelocityAP was the first company I started working with when I launched Redpants. I’ve known Stuart since I first got into Aston Martins and he’s one of the most stand-up people I’ve ever met. So, when it came to expand Redpants into performance products, I went straight to him. VelocityAP designs and manufactures exhaust systems and offers engine tuning to get the most performance out of your Aston Martin. Their in-house tuner, Chris, is an Aston Martin Master Technician and one of the best in the world - and that’s according to Aston Martin themselves!

This is not an exhaustive list by any means, and I’ll add to it as I get around to it. Inclusion on this list is based entirely on my own whims.
