Redpants is one of two full-time jobs I have. I started it thinking it'd stay small for at least a few years and I'd be easily able to handle it as a part-time job on the side of my day-to-day career. I'm happy to say, I was wrong - Redpants has been really taking off. The downside is that I'm exhausted. Between Redpants and my day job, I've been working 60-80 hours per week for nearly a year and a half. Luckily, I've got a vacation coming up and I'll be able to get some much needed recovery time.
I've gotten emails from people in nearly every continent (waiting on you, Antarctica...) and over a dozen countries. English isn't the first language of many of you guys outside of the USA, so I wanted to say a couple quick things: First, there's no need to apologize for your English! Your English is better than my ability to speak your language. Second, I'm pretty good at figuring out what you're trying to say, even if your English is a bit rough, so don't worry - we'll work through the language barrier. Third, Google Translate is a great tool to use - if you aren't sure if I'll understand your email, you can send both your own English and Google Translate's version of your native language to me.
Also, I know the cost of international shipping is often a problem. As things continue, I'll be looking for ways to improve it. The rates I have built into my online store are rough estimates based on weight. Sometimes they're a bit off, so if you want me to get you a more exact shipping quote, just ask! I'll need the items you want to buy, plus your delivery address, and then I can get you a quote for the full order.
VelocityAP V12 Clutch and Lightweight Flywheel Review
I did shoot some video for this over the weekend, but unfortunately the audio came out terribly. You can see in the video for this blog post, I've got an external mic on my jacket - I'll be using that more in the future to help with audio. I'm not a "professional" YouTuber, so keep in mind that someday I'll have more money to invest in my videos, but right now they're only here to help you guys get DIY jobs done, and for the occasional announcement. I don't [yet] have a production team or anyone helping me with these, so the entertainment videos aren't going to happen [yet].
Once I get the videos reshot, I'll post a full, more comprehensive video about the clutch and flywheel setup. In short: It's fantastic. The only thing I don't like about it is that the pedal effort is incredibly light, so learning to start from stop smoothly can be a bit tricky and takes some getting used to. Otherwise, I love it.
I love it when things come together so well it can only be chalked up to sheer coincidence. In this case, I had a scheduled a vacation 8 months ago for the first week of April. I also set a milestone for Redpants at the beginning of the year and, as of a few days ago, I reached that milestone. To celebrate the hitting that milestone, and to apologize for not being able to process orders or answer many emails while I'm on vacation, I'll be offering a discount on orders received through the website.
So, when you go through checkout, use the promo code "RECOVERY10" to get 10% off your order!
The promo code will be valid from 8am on March 31st through 11:59pm on April 9th, 2017 (all times EST/east coast USA). The code is controlled by the website - so it will not be valid before or after this timeframe! Any orders received will ship out in the second week of April, so please expect a delay if ordering between now and April 9th.
Thank you all for the amazing and continued support, and I'll see you when I get back!
